The Dailey's house is shown the foreground and members of the Dailey family still live there as of March 2003. This type of car had a low center entrance that made it easy to climb up into to, but of limited use as subway car since the door was too low for the platform. This type of car was normally operated on the Tremont Street line from Egleston Square. When they were retired from passenger service, many stayed on and saw duty as sand or salt cars. In this posed photograph, a boy runs out in front of the street car and the conductor is shown swinging around the handle of the "safety brake" to bring the car to a rapid stop. The photograph was taken on South St. in Jamaica Plain. The placard on the street card indicates its terminus at Forest Hills Station.

Taken at the intersection of Washington Street and Brookley Road.

Arborway Yard.
